Sleek Eye Dust in Jet Set// FOTD & new hair!

Hey beauties!
As I've mentioned previously, I've changed my hair colour, I have gone darker & more in the violet family rather than red, and I think now my makeup options have been opened up to something entirely better. Not that it mattered to me before about how my eyeshadow/lipstick/blush colours looked against my hair before, but now certain things look a whole lot different. For instance, this bright blue eyeshadow never stood out this much to me on my eyes before. I have also worn red lips and I <3 it a lot more now!

Edgy Emerald FOTD x2// Bh Cosmetics Day & Night palette

Both of these FOTD's are so old it is not funny! The first look is from back when I bought the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Edgy Emerald & I wanted to test it out, but I love the whole look together and still wanted to post these.

Look 1

Pretty much just wanted to show off my good hair day :P Didn't do anything to it!

I love wearing light greens with pink cheeks & lips so I kept the hues similar! I know yet again these are spring makeup looks.... that I had probably done last spring, way too long ago. Oh and while I'm lovin my hair in these pictures, yesterday I changed my hair, after having the same colour & style for soo long.

Masquerade Makeup: Drama if you dare.

A few weekends ago we went to a masquerade ball. Of course I wanted to do big, dramatic makeup for it lol. It was a really good night... when they started playing good music lol. The dress code was meant to be strict but there were quite a few people in short club dresses and people without masks... which is not what a masquerade ball is about! lol. Anyway, apart from that, it was reallly hot in the ball area and because my mask was tucked into my hair it was hard to take it off without my eyes smudging lol.

Balayage hair + glitzy club makeup!

I'm so sorry guys, I'm apologizing for the lack of posts again! Soo I got my hair done a couple of weeks back.. mainly coz my stupid roots were showing through haha.. I swear my hair grows too fast! This time she did more balayage through all of it, instead of just a few front sections like before. The only thing I will change next time is to probably just do the base colour through the top sections only to break up the lighter ends. It looks good curled, but there's kinda like a line between the colour when it's straight.
Aandd- I hate bleach, my ends feel yucky now & they tangle so easily! My hair is so much more static when I brush it too lol :(

So of course after purchasing my new products I had to use as many as I could at the same time :P Which was perfect because I bought 1 eye, 1 cheek & 1 lip product from MAC, and I couldn't have cared less if it was complementary or not LOL.
Obviously this is not tonight's FOTN, it's from last week :)

I just came across this video and wanted to share- It's so cool that you can get so many different types of curls with the same tool! Also I think the guy is pretty funny, hehe.

How to get bouncy curls overnight!

There are many ways to get curls with no heat, but this is such a pretty way that you can wear out before taking it out- I left mine in for 24 hours before I did (believe me the elastic headband kept slipping down & driving me crazy, but if the hair was coming out all it took was to kind of roll the hair back under the band).

 All I used was an elastic head band and twisted my hair starting from the front & working side to side until all hair is tucked under it. Its hard to visualize like that but there are a few great tutorials on youtube.
 I couldn't find the one from lilithedarkmoon   but this is what I did

I used a thinner one for my hair so the curls turned out a bit different to hers but it's pretty much the same result. You can also add mousse to your hair before twisting it.

New Hair, Sultry Naked 1 eyes.

I needed a change for my hair, although I loved the last colour it was time for something a bit different, so I got some balayage!
The hairdesser at the salon I work at wanted to try it for the first time and she did a good job. Otherwise, the base colour is not too different there's just a bit of pink in it too :)

A Day at the Races Pic Heavy

Last weekend The weekend before it was Cup Day at the Races, one of the days where everyone gets dressed up & has a bit too much to drink, haha. You don't have to go to bet, although I did put a few small ones on though & only won a tiiny bit that didn't make up for anything, ahah.
Anyway, with my makeup I felt a bit like someone from the Old Hollywood era, with red lips & neutral eyes. However lashes & eyeliner spiced up the neutral eyes. Warning: Super Posey pics ahead

Wedding makeup

As a guest, not to my own wedding haha, I just couldn't think of any other title :)Was a good afternoon/ night, got a little merry with the champagne :)

Before I let my hair out.. I curled it with a small curling iron & pinned it to my head.. it took forever to get the pins out! haha. Also I like this pic coz it shows my contouring :)

Sleek Storm palette.... darkest pink; applied wet on the lid.

 Light pink from the same palette in the crease along with some gold e/s.

A little bit of Satin Taupe in the outer crease.

 Nyx JEP in Slate on the outer corner, with a black e/s over the top.

Black Bean JEP for eyeliner, mascara & a few single false lashes.

Cheeks: Contoured with a darker concealer, with Nyx Taupe blush over the top.

Nars Orgasm on the apple, highlighted with Mac Strobe Cream & topped with Nyx White Pearl.

Lips: Revlon Nude Attitude l/s topped with Nyx Iris l/s

All that glitters: Fancy dress for New Years Eve

I hope everyone had a fun & safe new years!! Where I am we don't get fireworks, but we had a spectacular lightning show! (it was fine that day until the arvo, how typical). So my new years attire was a bit different from normal as we attended a dress up party haha, and we were going to change before we went out but decided not to. Although we got a fair few comments while we were out lol!

Schmoking FOTN Pic Heavy + Nails

The other night I wanted to do something dramatic & smokey for going out for my mans work christmas dinner & then to hit the nighty afterwards. Of course I wanted to use this Bourjois eyehshadow which for some reason looks green... maybe it is because I don't think its quite black... hahah. It doesn't look green in swatches but maybe the JEP changed the colour of it.

Go insane, throw some glitter make it rain

I couldn't help the title lol, a couple of weeks ago we went to a festival that had bands & DJ's including Avicii, LMFAO (my fave! they were awesome haha), Bloody Beetroots, Pnau & many more.
I wasn't sure how I wanted to do my makeup but I wanted it to be more festival-like so at the last minute I threw in some glitter & felt like Ke$ha haha. Too bad it kinda looks like dirt from afar. I actually had a spray tan done a few days before, I will post those FOTDS later but here it is quite natural, just the way I like it.

New hair + Ice Queen FOTD

My hair was in desperate need of a colour, I liked the colour that I had before but I've had red in my hair for so long that I wanted to go more violet-y. & it still has some red in it so I like that :D
These pics were taken the day after so I made sure that I slept on my hair nicely haha. & to go with my new hair I wanted to do a more "special" look so yet again I tried a cut crease look (again haha) which I thought I had better try to name.

How to curl your hair with little to no heat

I wasn't thinking of taking pics & making this into a tutorial when I started doing it so the pictures aren't that informative but its ok & simple to follow. This is using bendy hair rollers. If you do not need to use heat & you have enough rollers you can go to bed with them in your hair & when you take it out in the morning you will have beautiful curls.
What you need:

 Bendy Rollers, some hair clips, bobby pins, sectioning comb.

Products I used in my hair: PPS the ends (cuticle sealer applied after I washed my hair) Heat protector (obviously only if you use heat) Herbal Essences Tousle me Softly spray gel, Moroccan Oil for afterwards.If your hair does not hold curl very well you may want to use a curling cream.

Rock Chick Glam FOTN + OOTN + Nails

 On the weekend my friend came down & it had been a while since I had seen her, so we planned a night of drinking & dancing.
I had been wanting to do just a full on smokey eye look for a while now but didn't have anywhere to wear it, and didn't want to wear it during the day haha. I added some glitter under the lower lashline & falsies to make it look more "glam". It was also meant to be more black then silver but I used slate JEP when I should have used black bean.

New hair + Old FOTD

Hey guys! Sorry its been really hard to find time for blogging... still. :( I get my first TAFE package next week which will probably start with the basic stuff! So now that I am a student again... I have to do homework haha.
Oh I can't believe its september already..... & its spring now!! My hayfever has already gotten 10x worse in the past few days.. especially today.... but I still had a goood day, can't wait to share some pictures I took!!

So I've been working at the salon for 3 weeks now.... dyed my hair on the first day coz it was so overdue. Its a bit more different than usual, & looks a lot more redder in the sun, as always. I didn't get my blonde foils redone so where the colour has gone over it looks more pink!! hehe.

Engagement Party Makeup: Glittery Gold & Black

So, the engagement party is all over, which I'm kinda sad but happy about it, mainly because it was so fun to do all the decorations (which took only 2 days haha- 1 hour to clean the majority up with about 10 people) but now the stress is over! Time to relax, even though it was a great night. The shed had never ever been that decorated before and without my future M.I.L and her friends' help it wouldn't have happened. Anyhoo...

I got my hair curled that afternoon, and when it came to my makeup I didn't really have anything planned! But I knew I wanted it to stand out, so I went for gold glitter as you will see in the pics.

Before getting changed- I took too many damn photos to choose from. some with eyes only, some before changed then heaps after changed. lol

My Hair routine

Hey bloggers :) I’ve been busy busy this past week, planning our engagement party & decorating, so I haven’t had too much time to spare although I wanted to share my hair routine, just coz I have been growing out my hair ever since I got it cut shoulder length, lol. I even bought extensions but haven’t worn them much… =/

As you can see i didn't properly style my hair, I just blow dried the majority of it with my fingers :)

To wash- (also see here for hair washing tips)

I use a Tresemme Colour Protector conditioner & a Pantene colour therapy conditioner (my aunty gave me heaps so I haven’t bought any & wont need to in ages!)

I leave the conditioner in for a bout 2 minutes with a hair clip while I wash my face etc. Massage in while I’m rinsing it out. I pretty much always rinse with cold water (yep, even in winter!) after to close the hair cuticles which makes your hair shinier.

I pat/ squeeze with towel (my hair holds alottt of water so I have to squeeze for ages). After that I apply Wella Bio Touch Colour Protection conditioning spray to damp hair & brush with a comb (use combs only for wet hair!!)This makes my hair sooo soft!
I apply Moroccan oil mainly to the ends & some on top to stop frizz. You can stop there if you prefer to air dry, but my hair takes a day and a half to do that properly lol.

When I blow dry it I use a Tresemme heat protectant all over my hair. I blow dry on the 2nd warm hair setting with my hair dryer. If I don't want to style my hair I just use my fingers. Otherwise I will add some product in (whatever look I wanna achieve)

If styling with blow dryer I put my hair into sections & spray each with heat protector. I usually use a round brush that keeps my hair sleek but not completely straight.

Anyway I hope that was helpful to someone :)
I find that the Moroccan Oil makes the biggest difference to my hair with the shine :) I try not to use heat too much & if I blow dry I only do it no more than 2x a week.

New Hair , Smudge e/l + More Bronzed than usual

haha sorry for all the FOTD posting (which isn't even that much) but I want to get some out of the way for when I am away. I have older pics to post too like the one I posted yesterday so if it seems like some times my hair looks faded or my eyebrows look messy it's coz they are not posted in order.... (I still have some from months ago that I wanna post!!)

Not much changed with my hair, I just got it dyed that same dark red/purple colour (to match my extensions which I barely wear! my hair is long anyway haha) & my side fringe re-cut.... which I think I may grow out again & style it to the middle haha that doesn't make sense.. oh am I the only one with the horrible short hairs around my hairline at the top!?? ahah
