As far as I know MAC goes on sale from ozsale around every 6 months, but I am not too sure about it. Any aussies should sign up to get emails so they don't miss out!
Ah my shadows! Found it very hard to have them not show up. |
This is my first blush from MAC that is not a Sheertone or Mineralize Skin Finish so I was surprised at how pigmented it was with my first swatch. It is a bright fuchsia pink with a satin finish that can look quite daunting in the pan but if you use a light hand with the right kind of brush & tap off the excess you should have no problem to avoid looking like a clown. I think this would be a gorgeous winter colour. However I have read that it is limited edition but I was able to score it off ozsale for some reason, so I apologize that it will most likely be hard to find. 6g for $22 normally AU$41)
Cream Colour Base in Pearl
I bought this to use under my MAC Lightscapade highlighter as it seemed to be a very similar colour, which it is. I love to use it on the tops of my cheek bones & cupids bow, and I'm sure it could also be used in the inner corner of the eyes. Pearl is a boney-white colour with an obvious frost finish. I probably wouldn't use it on it's own just to ensure longevity with the highlighter on top. 3.2g for $20 (normally AU$36)
Cream Colour Base in Hush
I find the CCB can attract brush hairs & any dirt or foundation on your fingers quite easily, but as long as you wipe your fingers in between each swipe it should be ok or try not to double dip. This is only a minor thing and can easily occur with any cream product.
Obviously as they are cream-based they wont last as long on oily skin as it would on dry, but if you do want to try it, just top it up with a powder highlight as I do anyway. They would also be better to use in the winter months for that gorgeous luminous glow.
Swatches
Top to bottom: Hush, Pearl, Her Blooming Cheek
Wearing Her Blooming Cheek as a blush, and Cream Colour Base in Pearl underneath Lightscapade. This is about 5 hours after initial application.
Have you tried any of these products and what do you think of them?
xx
I also bought a few blushes from the sale! I got Peachykeen and Tenderling.
ReplyDeleteLove the savings on ozsale.

I also have Peachykeen, it is gorgeous! I'm so glad I heard about Ozsale so we can at least save a little bit of money without paying the ridiculous markup, although with MAC they never have a huge selection.

Her Blooming Cheeks looks lovely on you! I've been wanting to try the cream color base in Pearl for the longest time!
ReplyDeleteNew follower here x :)

Her Blooming Cheek looks GOOOOD on you! I love using Hush as a highlighter too, or a base for a highlighter! I've never used Pearl though, but it's so pretty! It's such a shame that Hush creases on the eyes (did the same for me too) because it would be sooo pretty for an eye look! x

Thanks darling, I can easily picture you wearing that shade! I bought Hush because of you, I thought you used it as a base for blush lol but it is so nice for highlighting. The colour is slightly more natural than Pearl.

I've seen Pearl and Hush in a few blogs now, they seem so pretty xx
ReplyDeleteI have wanted Pearl for so long as it looks like it would make a fab highlighter and it really does- as shown by your photos! X z
ReplyDeleteHer Blooming cheeks looks awesome! I've not tried any of these. The cream color base is something I'd love to try.
ReplyDeleteI received Hush as a birthday gift a couple of months ago and instantly fell in love! You just reminded me to do a blogpost about it! Hahaha
ReplyDeleteHer Blooming Cheek looks stunning. This is definitely going to be my next blush from MAC!
Ahh glad you love it!
DeleteI hope you can find HBC! It is such a beautiful colour I didn't think I could pull it off when I first swatched it haha
xx
I have never tried these but now I might have to!

I feel like an absolute idiot cause I didn't even know they made cream bases for face! They look great!
ReplyDeleteHaha don't feel like an idiot, love! I think they are best for the face, anyway. xx
DeleteHer Blooming Cheek looks so pretty! Too bad that it's LE :( I think my MUFE 75 (a hot hot pink!) could be used as a hot pink blush if I tried to make it work. I really haven't tried the 'flushed cheeks in the cold' look yet hehe XD
ReplyDeleteWelll I've also read else where that it might just be a pro colour...? So keep your eye out for it anyway, but I'm sure that would suffice! xx
Deleteohhhh im jealous!! those are soo gorgeous, the shades are so perfect for any skin tone. :) i love how radiant it looks and there's really a big difference with the Cream Colour Base. gosh can't wait to get so many MAC products when i visit US someday. hehe. xx
ReplyDeleteThe radiance is TDF, a bit harder to achieve with just a powder highlighter on it's own, sometimes. I plan to buy so much MAC & lots of other brands when I go! xx
